Summary

Problem

There was no streamlined method of communication to employees about all of the volunteering opportunities available in the Central Indiana area. At the same time, many employees had a V2MOM goal of reaching their Champion Grant with 56 hours of volunteer hours logged.

Solution

I joined a rag-tag group of Salesforce employees to start an email program that would communicate current hours logged, gamify the experience with a leader board, and announce Partner VTO events and employee submitted events.

Result:

Employee volunteering rose 44% during the two months the campaign ran when compared to last year. We terminated the Champions Pledge due to the change in corporate VTO policy that occurred in May as the achievable goal was no longer relevant.

Responsibilities

I worked with a team comprised of a Solution Architect, a Marketing Consultant, and Senior Web Producer. I was in charge of designing the user experience. Working closely with the Solution Architect, we constructed a reachable goal of communication flow and back-end capabilities. I designed each step, while the Solution Architect built each email and landing page except for the Monthly Dynamic Newsletter.  I took extra care with the monthly email and made sure it adhered to best practices and looked perfect on all device sizes.
